Day 1: Arrive in Prague
Today you will meet
our representative. In the afternoon for a neighborhood walk,
followed by dinner together. Overnight at Hotel in Prague.
Day 2 & 3: Prague
For the next two days you will spend time for visiting
Prague's wonderfully preserved Old Town, enjoying Baroque and Art Nouveau
architecture, and visiting the Jewish Quarter. We'll also tour the Prague Castle
area and St. Vitus Cathedral. There'll be plenty of free time to wander and to
sample Prague's evening treats: classical music, black light theater, and
Europe's best beer. Overnight at Hotel.
day 4: Rural Czech Republic
Today you will make a drive towards Moravia (the eastern
part of the country), explore a typical hill town, and set up in the village of
Trojanovice under the Beskydy Mountains. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 5: Krakow
Today you will cross the border into Poland and spend much
of the day at Auschwitz, Europe's most moving memorial to the Holocaust. Then
it's on to Krakow, Poland's historic melting pot. Overnight at Hotel in Krakow.
Day 6 & 7: Krakow
Over the next two days we’ll explore the city on a walking
tour, visit the Jewish district and tour the Wieliczka Salt Mine. You’ll have
plenty of free time to enjoy the castle; the Czartoryski Museum, St. Mary’s
Church, and mixing with the locals around one of Europe’s most colorful market
squares. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 8: Slovakia
Today you will make a dive towards Slovakia with the
beautiful Tatra Mountains as our backdrop. We’ll settle in or near the town of
Levoca where we’ll have dinner together. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 9: Hungary
Today we’ll cross the border and drive to Eger, home to
Hungary’s most beloved castle, set in the hills of the country's best-known
wine-growing region. Overnight at Hotel in Eger.
Day 10: In and around Eger
Today you will have a free morning to soak-in Eger’s
baroque beauty and bustling produce market, then explore the surrounding
countryside. Highlights include wine caves, rural villages, a Stalin-era gulag
(work camp)…and a minaret. Bus: 3 hours. Overnight at Hotel.
Days 11 & 12: Budapest
Today morning after breakfast you will have a short drive
to Budapest, we'll spend a day and a half in the mighty Magyar capital along the
Danube River. We'll have a guided walk through the historic castle district of
Buda (on the west bank) and through bustling Pest (on the east). Overnight at
Hotel in Buda.
Day 13: Croatia
Today we will go ahead towards south to Croatia and the
unique wonders of Plitvice Lakes National Park, where a system of boardwalk
trails lead to magical waterfalls. Overnight at Hotel in Plitvice
Day 14: Adriatic
Today after a morning hike through the park, we'll drive
across the mountains to the Adriatic Sea. We'll board a boat for our enchanting
retreat on the island of Rab, where we will have an Overnight Stay.
Day 15: Free day on the island
Today you are free for a “vacation from your vacation.” The
entire day is yours to enjoy the sun, beach, gelato and seafood. You can also
wander among the red-tile roofs and Venetian bell towers of the walled town of
Rab. Overnight at Hotel.
Days 16 & 17: Slovenia
Our destination is the azure jewel of Lake Bled, set in the
midst of Slovenia's Julian Alps and ringed by fine hiking paths. We'll also have
some time to explore Ljubljana, Slovenia's small and charming capital. Overnight
at Hotel.
Day 18: Return Home
Today you will be transfer to the Slovenia's international
airport is a half-hour away; or hop a nearby train to other European cities.
From their you will have a flight towards your own Destination.
