On the
bank of the ram Ganga Rivers in the foothills of the
Himalayas, this parks famous for its Wide variety of
wildlife .The park is particularly renowned for its tigers
but also has elephants, several types of deer including
sambars,.panthers.The river has crocodile and there is
much birdlife.the park was established in 1935 and later
renamed after Jim Corbett, who spent many years in this
area and wrote the book The Man Eaters of kumaon. Dhikala
is the main accomodation center in the park, 51km from
Ramnagar the nearest rail head to the park. Ramnagar is
connected by the Moradabad and by bus with Delhi and
Lucknow from Dhikala, although there are also three-day
package tours operated from New Delhi.
The
elephant rides are not to be missed; you search the
elephant grass and the edge of the Sal forest for an hour
or more. As well as spotted and hog dear ,wild boar,
moniter lizards,jackalsand many birds there is a good
chance of
Seeing a
tiger. There are crocodile in the rivers; sambarand other
deer species in the woods; and wild elephants elsewere in
the park. Corbett is also a bird watcher paradise.

commonly seen wildlife includes wild elephants, langur
monkeys, rhesus macaques, peacock, and several types of
deer, including, samber, hogdeer and barking deer. There
are also crocodiles, the odd-looking gavial, monitor
lizards, wild boars and jackal. Leopards are occasionally
seen. Corbett is also a bird’s watcher paradise, with over
500 species of indigenous or migratory birds, and since

BEST TIME
TO TRAVEL : The Park is open from December to May but
avoid the crowded Weekend.
How to Get there
Air : The nearest airport to Corbett National Park is
Phoolbagh, Pantnagar which is at a distance of 50 km. The
nearest international airport is at Delhi which is at a
distance of 300 km from Corbett.
Rail :
The nearest railway station is at Ramnagar from where road
transport options have to be availed to reach the park.
Road:
Dhikala is 300 km from Delhi, 145 km from Lucknow
and 51 km from Ramnagar. The route from Delhi spans
Hapur-Murababad-Ramnagar. The turn off is some 7 km beyond
Muradabad to the left, marked by a small board. The route
from Lucknow spans
