Day 1: DELHI
Today you will be welcomed with garland at Airport. Later
transferred to Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 2.: Delhi
Today in the morning we will be visiting the mutiny sites in Old
Delhi, including the Kashmir Gate, Hindu Rao Memorial, the Red
Fort,the Mutiny monument, tomb of Humayon - the second of the six great Mogul Emperors
(1530-56) - where the rebel King of Delhi was captured by the
intrepid Captain Hodson after the fall of Delhi.Overnight at
Hotel.
Day 3: Delhi
Today in the morning drive to the battlefield of
Badli-ki-Serai to walk in the footsteps of the British 1st Brigade
as it attacked the left of the rebels' entrenched position,
eventually taking it at the point of the bayonet. Continue to
Mirath(Meerut) to visit the site of the old cantonment where the
mutiny proper began.
Day 4.Ludhiana
Today in the
morning you will be transferred to Railway Station to board train
for Ludhiana, to consider the First Sikh War. On arrival transfer
to Hotel. After
wash and change we visit, perhaps the best known First
Sikh War engagement; that of Aliwal , where a gallant charge by the
16th Lancers saved the day. Return to Ludhiana. Overnight at
Hotel.
Day 5. : Firozpur/Delhi
Today we will make a drive towards Firozpur with its Anglo-Sikh war memorial and its
fascinating collection of paintings and weapons. We then visit the
battlefields of Moodkee (Mudki), Farozeshah and Sobraon. Later
transferred to Railway Station to board train for Delhi. On
arrival transfer to Hotel. Overnight at Hotel
Day 6.Agra
Today we will make a drive
towards Agra enroute visit
the battlefield of Leswaree and the magnificent fortress of Deig (Deeg).
On arrival transfer to Hotel. Overnight
at Hotel
Day 7. Agra
Today we will have a sightseeing tour to
Visit the Taj Mahal, the famous
monument of Love built by Shah Jahan in the loving memory of his
beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, explore the
beautiful
Red Fort with its marble halls and formal gardens which, in 1857,
was a
refuge for more than 5,000 Europeans and their Indian servants.
Day 8. Jhansi
Today Drive out to walk the battlefield of Sasia where the
British
suffered one of the most humiliating defeats of the whole
campaign. Later transferred to Railway Station to board train to Jhansi.
On arival transfer to Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 9. Jhansi/Kanpur
Today we will be
having a sightseeing Tour of Jhansi, including the impressive fort, the Rani's
palace and
the Jokan Bagh (site of the infamous massacre). Afternoon transfer
to railway station/Airport to board train/Flight to Kanpur.
On arrival transfer to Hotel. Overnight
at hotel.
Day 10. Lucknow
Early morning we will ave
a sighseeing tour of Kanpur visiting
the All
Soul's Memorial Church, built on the site of Wheeler's mud
entrenchment.
Follow in the footsteps of the garrison's bedraggled survivors to Satichaura Ghat and visit the site of the Bibighar Well where the
corpses
of the butchered women and children were dumped. Later we will
make a Drive to Lucknow. On arrival transfer to Hotel.

Day 11. Lucknow
A tour round the Mogul splendours of Lucknow, once the
richest city
in India, taking in the key mutiny sites such as Martiniere
College, the
Kaisarbagh (or King's Palace, the Secunderbagh Garden, where more
than
2,000 rebels perished when the British stormed it in November 1857
and the
famous Residency compound which has hardly changed since the
British
recaptured it in March 1858. Later transfereed to Airport to board
flight for Mumbai (Bombay) .On arrival transfer to Hotel.

Day 12. Aurangabad
Today in the morning we
will be transferred to Airport to board flight for Aurangabad to examine the Mahratta Wars to the
south. later Drive
to the battlefield of Assaye, where, on 23 September 1803, General
Arthur
Wellesley (as the Duke of Wellington was then known) decisively
defeated
the Mahrattas. Continue to Akola. on arrival transfer to
hotel.Overnight at Hotel.
Day 13. Gwalior
Drive to the battlefield of Argaum, Wellesley's
magnificent victory
over Manoo Bappoo in November 1803. We continue into the Gawilghur(Gwalior)
hills to
explore the remains of the huge fort of Gawilghur taken by
Wellesley in
December 1803. Today the fort is situated in the heart of the
Melghat Tiger
Reserve. Continue to Nagpur catch the evening flight to Mumbai and
either
check in to our hotel for one night or make a midnight check-in
for our
flight to London.
