Sunday: Arrive in London
Today you will be
arrive in London. Later transfer to the Hotel. Rest of the Day
Free for own activity. Overnight at Hotel.
Monday: London
Today you will make a dive into London
sightseeing, beginning with the treasures of the British
Library, including the Magna Carta, Gutenberg's Bible-even
Beatles lyrics! After lunch, you will continue on to the Tower
of London, the city's historic "tower of power." We'll join a
Yeoman Warder "Beefeater" for an entertaining tour and a peek at
the impressive Crown Jewels. Overnight at Hotel.
Tuesday: Highlights of Westminster
Today you will make a historic walk in the
Westminster/Whitehall area, including stops to visit Westminster
Abbey and the Cabinet War Rooms. After lunch, you will dodge
pigeons in Trafalgar Square and marvel at the masterpieces in
the National Gallery before dispersing in the late afternoon for
free time. This would be a perfect evening for the theater (book
something in advance from the Colonies or pick up a ticket in
London).Overnight at Hotel.
Wednesday: St Paul's Cathedral & British
Museum
This morning you will take the Tube to St.
Paul's and meet a local guide for a tour of the church and the
City financial district. After lunch together, you will visit
the British Museum, and set you free for Covent Garden,
shopping, or other sightseeing. This is another good night for
the theater. Overnight at Hotel.
Thursday: Trip to Windsor
Today you will spend a day outside the
city, enjoying the Royal Family's castle and grounds at historic
Windsor. Overnight at Hotel.
Friday: Greenwich
Today you will cruise the River Thames down
to historic Greenwich, and then have the rest of the day free to
explore the National Maritime Museum, Old Royal Observatory, or
Cutty Sark clipper ship. Stay all day or take the Tube back to
London for some last-minute shopping. Tonight we'll meet for our
"last supper" and raise a toast to London. Overnight at Hotel.
Saturday: Return to Home
Today after a morning breakfast, you will
be transfer to the Airport to have a flight towards your own
Destination.
